Malaysia Professional Visit Pass Update

Introduction

Effective from 16th August 2024, the Expatriate Services Division (ESD) of the Malaysian Immigration Department have relaxed the document requirements for Professional Visit Pass applications.

What has changed?

A Malaysian Professional Visit Pass (PVP) is granted to foreign nationals with the required professional qualifications or skills who are entering the country to provide services and /or receive training under the sponsorship of a Malaysian company, on behalf of an overseas company, for up to 12 months.

With a view of streamlining the immigration processes in Malaysia, the government has now relaxed the requirements for PVP applications. From the 16th August 2024, applicants will no longer be required to provide: bank guarantee, offer letter, acceptance letter, job description, working schedule, academic certificates or CV with their submission for a PVP.

Who is affected?

Foreign nationals with the intention of entering Malaysia with a Professional Visit Pass for the purpose of providing services or participating in training.
