How does vehicle transport work? 

With door-to-door auto shipping, your car or motorcycle will be picked up at your home – or nearest accessible location – by your removals company. 

If your vehicle will be shipped by sea freight, first it will be taken for required inspections and drained of fluids. It will be placed in a container and bound for the nearest port with all required documentation. Upon arrival, once your vehicle has cleared customs, it will be delivered to your new home. 

Top tip! Don't try to fill your auto with personal items that you want to ship. Your vehicle must be empty prior to shipping or it may be rejected at customs. 

For vehicle transport within the UK or the EU, your car or motorcycle will be placed directly into a moving trailer at your pick up location. It will then be driven to your new home, saving you unnecessary mileage. It is possible to delay delivery of your vehicle if you need more time before its arrival.

If you are transporting your vehicle within the EU, check the auto registration requirements at your new address. Regulations vary for each EU country, and you may be charged a fine if your car is registered in the wrong jurisdiction! 

How much does vehicle transport cost?

The cost to ship your car or motorcycle is based on the distance that it will travel, any custom crating (for motorcycles), preparation of documentation, inspections, and taxes and duties at your destination.
